Our Story

It started with a few families.

Operation North Pole began with a small group of neighbors who wanted to give a few families navigating childhood illness a day of pure joy. That humble idea grew, quietly, community by community, into a holiday tradition thousands of families and volunteers now share.

2009 to Today

Built by volunteers. Powered by love.

What began as a handful of neighbors wanting to give a few families a brighter day has grown into a community of thousands. Today, hundreds of volunteers across Chicagoland design, build, and host an immersive North Pole experience every season.

We are entirely volunteer-powered. Every dollar, every wrapped gift, every smile is the work of neighbors showing up for neighbors.

Our Promise

Every family is the guest of honor.

From the moment a family arrives, the day belongs to them. We greet, we listen, we adapt, and we celebrate. Our promise is simple: comfort, joy, and a memory that lasts long after the last twinkle light.
